Patagonia Outdoor Education Program
The Butler Conservation Fund (BCF) is committed to bringing quality outdoor education to today’s youth in various parts throughout the world. Therefore, the BCF has partnered with Conservación Patagónica to offer an outdoor education program to the junior high school in Cochrane, Chile. The program teaches basic outdoor skills, introduces students to local flora and fauna, builds appreciation for conservation and the future Patagonia National Park, and develops leadership and communication skills. In the 2013 pilot program, students participated in long nature hikes on their first two visits as well as a hike and overnight camping trip on their third visit.
