Black River Environmental Improvement Association

The Black River Environmental Improvement Association (BREIA) strives to connect individuals with nature. BREIA is a not-for-profit corporation funded as a gift to the people of New York State. Access to the trails and facilities is free, and no donations are  accepted. The trails remain open and maintained throughout the year and offer hiking, biking, skiing, and snowshoeing opportunities to those providing their own equipment.

BREIA now boasts approximately 30 miles (50 kilometers) of trails, making it one of the largest Nordic ski and snowshoe trail systems in the East. The trail systems embrace a diversity of landscapes, each offering a distinctive aerobic experience.  Maps for each system are available at trailheads.
